Submissions

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through OJS System Submission or via e-mail alternatively (if the system unavailable) to the editor at: jocsseditor@gmail.com.
Authors are advised to follow the Author Guidelines in preparing the manuscript before submission.

Publication Ethics

The researcher/author must not engage in plagiarism or self-plagiarism. Plagiarism such as verbatim or copying, or paraphrasing without any proper citation, of text, data, or other material containing results of another person’s work, without explicit identification of the source of such material. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited in JOCSSES and texts that are identified as plagiarism or its content are fraudulent will be removed from the journal as quickly as possible.

The researcher must be exercising the care of research ethics for publishing only original research. The manuscripts may be reviewed and deeply screened during the whole editorial cycle, including the submission process, and until the final publication.

The confidentiality will be maintained before any clarifications or complaints that an author wishes to send to the committees of the journal.

Peer review process

JOCSSES is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. Every paper submitted to the JOCSSES for publication is subject to peer review. The peer review in this journal is an evaluation of the submitted paper by two or more individuals of similar competence to the author. It aims to determine the academic paper's suitability for publication. The peer review method is employed to maintain standards of quality and provide credibility of the papers. The peer review at Journal of Social Science proceeds with the description as follows.

  • The corresponding or submitting author submits the paper to the journal. This is carried out via an online system supported by the Open Journal System (OJS)
  • The submitted paper is first assessed by JOCCSES editor. The editor checks whether it is suitable with the Journal focus and scope. The paper's composition and arrangement are evaluated against the journal's Author Guidelines to make sure it includes the required sections and stylizations. In addition, an assessment of the minimum required quality of the paper for publication begins at this step, including one that assesses whether there is a major methodological flaw. Every submitted paper which passes this step will be checked by Turnitin to identify any plagiarism before being reviewed by reviewers.
  • The Editor-in-Chief checks if the paper is appropriate for the journal, sufficiently original, interesting, and significant for publication. If not, the paper may be rejected without being reviewed any further.
  • The handling editor sends invitations to individuals who he or she believes would be an appropriate reviewer (also known as referees) based on expertise, the closeness of research interest, and no conflict of interest consideration. The peer review process at JOCSSES including Management, Economics, Culture, Law, Geography, and Education that involves a community of experts in a narrowly defined field of Social Science who are qualified and able to perform reasonably impartial review.
  • Potential reviewers consider the invitation against their own expertise, conflicts of interest, and availability. They then decide to accept or decline. In the invitation letter, the editor may ask the potential reviewer for the suggestion of an alternative reviewer, when he or she declines to review.
  • The reviewers allocate time to read the paper several times. The first read is used to form an initial impression of the work. If major problems are found at this stage, the reviewers may feel comfortable rejecting the paper without further work.
  • The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor consider all the returned reviews before making an overall decision. If the reviews differ widely between both reviewers, the handling editor may invite an additional reviewer so as to obtain an extra opinion before making a decision.
  • The editor sends a decision email to the author including any relevant reviewer comments. Reviewer comments is sent anonymously to the corresponding author to take the necessary actions and responses. At this point, reviewers are also be sent an email or letter letting them know the outcome of their review.
  • If accepted, the paper is sent to copy-editing. If the article is rejected or sent back to the author for either major or minor revision, the handling editor will include constructive comments from the reviewers to help the author improve the article. The author should make corrections and revise the paper per the reviewers' comments and instructions. 
  • f the editor is happy with the revised paper, it is considered to be accepted. Leveraging the feedback from the peer review process, the Editor will make the final publication decision. The review process will take approximately 2 to 4 weeks. The category of decisions includes, The accepted papers will be published online and all are freely available as downloadable pdf files.



Open Access Policy

JOCSSES journals provide immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public. 

Malpractice Statement

Journal of Contemporary Social Science and education Research (henceforth JOCSSES) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards for all parties involved in the act of publishing in a peer-reviewed journal- the author, the editor of the journal, the peer reviewer and the publisher. JOCCSES publishing ethics are based on Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and Conduct for Journal Publishers practised by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This covers all parties working with us in the publication process, from the contact point until the completion of the specified task. Authors are advised to go through the guidelines to be aware of the consequences prior to submission. In a case of ethics misconduct or if violation is detected, the article will be withdrawn from the website and a written explanation will be sought from the corresponding author (or authors) within 7 working days. The editorial board of JOCSSES will evaluate the author's response before a final decision is given. Author guidelines

Authors should submit only papers that have been carefully proofread and polished. Before submission please make sure that your paper is prepared using the JOCSSES paper template. Acceptance or rejection notification will be sent to all authors.

Submitted papers MUST be written in English only.

Manuscripts should be typed in MS Word, should be in English, and should be sent online only via e-mail to the editor.

Length For individual papers, a length of between 4,000 - 8,000 words is acceptable. This excludes tables, figures, and references or should not exceed 25 pages.

The author should use The Times-News Roman and 11 font size with single spacing. Refer to the template provided.
